Sometimes I just don’t have the words that would do any justice to the images, and more importantly, to the moments behind the images…

I can say the love in this family is real in every moment.

I feel so lucky to be able to watch your family grow, and to be part of moments that are so filled with the stuff that makes the world a beautiful place…

Often, it can be really easy to see what’s wrong with the world…to get stuck in a rhythm of noticing the problems, the lackings, the areas that need improvement. But I’ve found that it’s often a matter of choosing what we look at…For each misfortune, there are a thousand beautiful things happening at the same time, and if you’re not looking carefully, you might miss them…Children playing on back lawns and sidewalks, birds chirping through open windows, breezes rustling curtains, grandmother’s sharing their stories, friends laughing, couples loving each other with their whole hearts…

Kate and John are one of these couples. Their love is a reminder of everything that is completely right.

Thank you for the beautiful tour of Nantucket, for the nostalgic step back in history, for the glass of water without ice, for the sunset, and for sharing your hearts with me.

Some days romance is just on the wind…from the light, to the breeze, to the smell of wild flowers growing secretly towards the ocean…It just sets the stage for hearts to open.

It’s a wonderful feeling to be around people who are in love…even though the love exists and is directed between the two of them, it somehow spills over, makes me fall in love with them, with the world around me, deepens my love for my family and friends. Jen and Ramon, watching the two of you together widens my heart and fills it right up to overflowing.

I love the movement from this moment…to this moment…

Sometimes finding words is the hardest part…

To start the day as strangers and then to be invited in to see the beauty that can transpire between two people- I’m inspired by the possibilities. There are looks, gestures, hugs, moments, that poets spend their whole lives trying to put into words…so I will leave you with this poem…

Oceans

I have a feeling that my boat
has struck, down there in the depths,
against a great thing.
And nothing
happens! Nothing…Silence…Waves…

–Nothing happens? Or has everything happened,

Your love inspires me- it is so deep and yet right on the surface at the same time. I can see really good things in your future :)

There are moments when I realize how lucky I am to be able to do what I do- I always enjoy it, but at certain times I’m moved by the fact that I get to pour my heart so deeply into my work.  Ann and Dave are so sweet…and you can just *see* how much they care for each other. Their wedding was at the Ritz Carlton in Boston- I don’t normally talk a lot about the venues, but man, the people that run the Ritz are caring. The event itself was just beautiful, but what touched me was how they treated everyone, not only the bride and groom, but everyone that was working together as a team to make the day special. It makes such a difference when people work together and want to help each other succeed.

Let’s start with my favorite portrait of the day…

I’m such a country girl at heart…even in the middle of the city, I manage to find a little nature to get lost in…
